Bath is a small city blessed with a frankly embarrassing bounty of riches. You can walk across town in just 30 minutes, but you could spend an age exploring the sights, absorbing the atmosphere, or just soaking in the spa.
The whole town is a UNESCO world heritage site, a living museum of honey-stone terraces, architectural gems and leafy squares. In Georgian times the city was the UK’s party capital, packed with the day’s movers and shakers, including a certain Miss J Austen. And while the corsets may have loosened, the city still has a definite good time vibe.
The Halcyon is your gateway to the city. Just around the corner are all the must-see sights including the Roman Baths, Bath Abbey, Pultney Bridge and the Thermae Spa. A five-minute walk brings you to the Circus and the Royal Crescent. As the Bath Spa train station is just a hop, skip and jump away, there really is no need for a taxi.
